Ekoru: the efficiency of factory-based construction for superior-quality building.

SIMPLIFIED SITE COORDINATION, HIGH QUALITY AND ABSOLUTE PRECISION

At Ekoru we have revolutionised the construction process by providing an innovative system that allows the vast majority of building operations to be completed directly in the factory. This approach not only reduces the typical inefficiencies of on site construction but also enhances the overall quality of the final product.

Factory construction: efficiency and precision

Traditionally, many activities involved in constructing a building—like routing services, plastering, or preparing window and door frames—are carried out on-site by different teams. This fragmentation leads to coordination issues, transport inefficiencies and material wastage. With Ekoru’s system, these operations are centralised in the factory, like a production line.

Detailed design for efficient production

Our approach demands a greater effort during the design phase: it is essential to finalise the design completely before production begins. However, this initial investment is amply rewarded by more efficient production. Our system eliminates the downtime that often characterises traditional sites, where multiple professions must coordinate and adapt to site schedules. Furthermore, material handling is optimised, reducing waste and transport costs. In the factory, material movement and processing are highly efficient, resulting in cost savings and a lower environmental impact.

Our building method offers two key advantages:

1. Simplified site coordination: with our system, complicated, labour‑ intensive work takes place in the factory. This means that on-site, once the foundations are in place, the prefabricated and pre‑ finished modules are simply assembled. Within a few days, the building envelope is formed and the installation of services, doors and windows, and finishes can happen simultaneously. The result? A more organised site, shorter working schedules, and a significant reduction in logistical complexities for designers and contractors.

2. High quality and absolute precision: operations such as service routing and frame preparation are carried out in the factory using CNC machinery to millimetre precision. This ensures perfect alignment with the original design. Furthermore, plastering and finishes are applied in a controlled environment by specialised professionals, supported by machinery that doses materials with pinpoint accuracy. The end result is a superior aesthetic quality and enhanced durability, thanks to perfectly optimised mixes and application times.

Ekoru’s factory based construction system marks a clear improvement over traditional methods—not only in terms of efficiency but also in the quality of the final outcome. Centralising operations and optimising every stage of the process produces buildings constructed with precision, completed more swiftly, and with a reduced environmental footprint. A benefit for designers, sector professionals—and, most of all, those who will live or work in the buildings we create.
