Arkè Project
The Arkè project represents an important innovation and development initiative for our company Ekoru, aimed at consolidating our presence in the eco-sustainable construction sector through technological modernization and the expansion of production capacity. Financed under state aid, this project aims to strengthen the competitiveness and efficiency of our production activity, especially in the off-site production sector.
The main objective of the Arkè project is to consolidate Ekoru in the eco-sustainable construction sector, through:
- The modernization of existing production technologies.
- The creation of a new production line for our business unit dedicated to pre-built buildings.
This initiative is aligned with our vision of continuously innovating to guarantee high-quality, sustainable products that can respond to new market challenges.
The heart of the project involves the upgrade of our production line of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) masonry blocks, with important technological and environmental benefits:
- Dimensional precision: use of advanced technologies that will allow us to obtain blocks with millimetric precision tolerances.
- Reduction of costs and emissions: less use of hydraulic binders, with a consequent reduction in CO₂ emissions and production costs.
- Reduction of waste: reduction in the percentage of rejected products thanks to more rigorous quality standards, reducing the volume of reprocessed materials.
- Expansion of production capacity: from 300,000 m³/year to approximately 400,000 m³/year, thanks to the installation of two new autoclaves.
- Energy efficiency: implementation of an innovative energy recovery system that will allow us to reduce the use of methane gas by 10%.
In parallel, the project includes the expansion of the off-site building construction line, which uses masonry blocks as the basic element. This new production capacity will also allow the production and assembly of the load-bearing frame in laminated wood, offering a complete solution for prefabricated construction.
Research and Development: New Structural Systems
One of the most innovative aspects of the Arkè project is the development of new integrated structural systems that combine AAC blocks and laminated wood frames. Research will focus on the connections between the wall and the frame, optimised to maximise seismic resistance, installation speed and the overall sustainability of the building. This combination of materials aims to offer a structure that combines:
- The lightness and elasticity of wood.
- The resistance and inertia of concrete.
The ultimate goal is to create safer buildings, resistant to seismic events and with a lower environmental impact throughout their life cycle.
Expected Results
- The Arkè project will bring significant benefits in several areas:
- Production capacity increased by 33%, with reduced production costs and improved product quality.
- Consolidation of Ekoru's presence in the national and international market, thanks to an increase in supply capacity for the new line of off-site buildings.
- New employment opportunities: the company's workforce will grow by 14 units, with the inclusion of specialized professional figures.
- Continuous training to improve internal skills and increase competitiveness on the market.
Arkè represents an important step towards reducing the environmental impact of construction. The adoption of more efficient and sustainable technologies will allow Ekoru to maintain a high quality standard, while contributing to the reduction of emissions and energy savings.
